The shop, although run on a business model and therefore aiming to make a profit, is set up in a way that re-invests some of its surpluses back into the community. To this end, in addition to re-investing within the shop to improve the shopping experience of customers, a small Community Fund has been established, through which applications are welcomed from local groups for funds to help run or purchase items for their activities. More information about this fund and the application form can be picked up from the shop or downloaded from this page by clicking the following links.
Recent recipients of awards are Pre-School Group, Ide Parish Council, Ide Aloud, Ide Art Group and Ide Cricket Club.
Voluntary Service and Work Experience Opportunities
We are happy to provide Voluntary Service Opportunities for young people working towards their Duke of Edinburgh Award and Work Experience for those who just want to do their bit for the shop. We can only cope with a limited number at any time and so these opportunities are available on a first come first served basis but if no places are currently available, we can put your name on a waiting list. If you are interested, talk to someone in the shop or contact Penny Smith our Volunteer Coordinator (by email firstname.lastname@example.org or phone 01392 211696) .
If ill health or other problems make it difficult for you to get to the shop, home delivery can be arranged. If you need this service please talk to or phone Susanna or Elizabeth in the Post Office (01392 271972)
